Who we are umoja.fm is a digital radio station with targeted audience in African territories.

What data we collect and why

Contact Form: When you submit the contact form through our submission form, we collect your name, email address, optional your phone number and your message. We use this data to review and answer your inquiry.

Music submissions: When you submit music through our submission form, we collect your name, artist name, email address, city and country, social media profiles, and track metadata including ISRC codes. We use this data to review your submission, credit your work correctly, and maintain our music licensing records.

Newsletter: When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and your name. We use Ghost.org to manage and send our newsletter. Ghost processes your data in accordance with their privacy policy (ghost.org/privacy).

Website: Our website is hosted on Ghost.org. Ghost may collect standard server logs including IP addresses for security and performance purposes.

Legal basis (GDPR) We process your data on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and, where applicable, for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

How long we keep your data Submission data including licensing records are kept for the duration of the license agreement and for up to 10 years thereafter for legal documentation purposes. Newsletter subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Who we share data with We do not sell your personal data. We use the following service providers who may process your data: Ghost.org (newsletter and website hosting), Google Workspace (internal communications and data management, see Google's Privacy Policy), Tally.so (submission forms, see Tally's Privacy Policy).

Your rights Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data at any time. Contact us.
